COVID-19 Impacts to Building, By-law and Planning ServicesUpdated December 21 2021

During the COVID-19 pandemic and particularly with regard to the Province’s Emergency Declaration the following measures have been put in place for the Building/By-law and Planning Departments:

Building/By-Law Department

As the Township office is closed to the public, Building/By-law offices are closed to the public.

  • Interaction with staff is preferred by telephone and e-mail.  In person meetings, if necessary, are available by appointment only.
  • Field inspections will continue, at staff’s discretion, and only where appropriate distancing and hygiene protocols can be maintained.

Planning Department

  • The Planning Department is closed to the public.
  • Interaction with staff is preffered by telephone and email.  In person meetings, where necessary, are available by appointment only.
  • The public is asked to consider the urgency of their request or application.

Once you have completed the form you may submit the application by mail or drop the application in the secure drop box located at the front door of Township Office at 1123 North Shore Road, Algonquin Highlands.   The Application for Minor Variance and Zoning By-law Amendment are required to be commissioned by a Commissioner of Oaths prior to being submitted  (due to the office closure these services are not available from the Township of Algonquin Highlands at this time).
