All Landfill Restriction Remain in Place at all OTHER LANDFILLS

Materials restrictions remain in place at Hawk Lake, Pine Springs, Dorset and Oxtongue Lake disposal sites while we ease back into full operations.

Until further notice, these three locations will continue to accept ONLY household waste <1 cubic yard and recycling.

Re-use centres at Maple, Dorset and Oxtongue will remain closed.

Alternative resources for repurposing good useable materials are available at:

  • SIRCH Thrift Warehouse in Haliburton, where donations are accepted by appointment only, call 1-844-847-4381 to book.  Please visit https://www.sirch.on.ca/social-enterprises/thrift-haliburton/ for additional information.
  • 4C’s Lilly Ann Thrift Store in Haliburton.  Donations accepted by appointment only, please call 705-457-3331 to book.

Often materials left at the road side with a “free” sign, will find new homes.  There are a number of Haliburton County based “freecycle” and Buy & Sell groups on Facebook that you may find helpful to rehome good useable items.
