Subject: COVID 19 Update - Outdoor Rinks
The Township of Algonquin Highlands remains under a declared State of Emergency.
The Algonquin Highlands Emergency Control Group continues to meet to continue its assessment of the rapidly-evolving COVID-19 pandemic situation and its potential effects on Algonquin Highlands.
NEW INFORMATION
Outdoor Ice Rinks
Stanhope Gardens and the Dorset Ice Palace will open in January, depending on weather.
The rinks will be open based on the following COVID-19 Health Unit regulations:
- Recreational skating only
- No sports equipment is permitted
- No gameplay is permitted
In addition to the above regulations all COVID-19 social distancing requirements shall be adhered to. Failure to follow these regulations will result in the closure of the rinks.

PLEASE NOTE: Decisions around the Dorset rink were made in collaboration with the Township of Lake of Bays because the rink is jointly owned by both Townships and managed by Algonquin Highlands.
