NOTICE: Total Fire Ban in Effect

Effective at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 1 a total fire ban is in effect throughout the County of Haliburton. This means no outdoor burning any time of day. Active daytime burning permits are suspended until further notice.

Bonfires, fireworks and the lighting of charcoal barbecues are prohibited, as are outdoor candles and lanterns, chimineas, Tiki torches and any other devices creating an open flame. CSA-approved propane and gas barbecues are permitted. Violating the ban will result in fines.

The ban is being implemented through a joint decision of the County’s four Chief Fire Officials and is supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
